The year was 2005, a beautiful Fall day. The day I would be visiting a new litter of 5 pug puppies. 3 black boys and 2 blonde girls. I was merely hoping to purchase 1 blonde puppy until I saw Luigi! A chubby, perfectly wrinkled black pug puppy with a winning disposition. He stole my heart. I selected beautiful Lola & Luigi!
These 2 incredible pups filled our hearts and gave us many good years of happiness and love. They were our little clowns. We never left them alone and they reciprocated in kind with their devotion.
Sadly, in 2017, we lost Lola. Heartbreaking and devastated, we relied on Luigi to get us through. He did it! Resilient, a champion pet, I could only describe him as Ferdinand The Bull. Luigi just loved to smell the flowers and be with you. He was so calm, docile and loving. He had an infectious smell all of his own. His round face filled with wrinkly “ stinkles”. How we loved him so.
Luigi was 15 years old, could no longer walk, but in all other ways he was fine. On 9/15/21 Luigi started to become more tired, but continued to enjoy his puffy up blankie, Gary the gecko who looked for him everyday, and all the snacks we treated him with just because he was so darn cute ! Luigi would never hurt us in any way, but on 9/16/21 he broke our hearts. He was tired and had to leave us. He passed peacefully at home with us by his side. No vet, no medication, no interruption. What I find so amazing is that it would be so characteristic of Luigi to leave this world with honor and courage. I’m so proud to have been his caretaker and to have given all of me to him. I’m heartbroken and I will always keep Luigi in my heart. RIP My Little Clown and thank you for the memories and love. Mommy ❤️❤️
