Mazie was loved long before she ever came home. From the moment we saw her tiny, spunky little self, we knew she was the perfect fit for our family.

We brought her home at just 4 weeks old. At the time, Ace would get so upset whenever we had to leave — whether it was for school, errands, or while I was in nursing school. He missed us terribly, and I wanted him to have a companion to keep him company. When we found Mazie, it felt like fate — she was exactly what our hearts needed.

Mazie brought so much life into our home. She was sassy, full of energy, playful, and so incredibly loving. She had a way of making every day brighter, every moment more joyful, and every adventure more memorable.

Two years ago, we almost lost her in an unfortunate accident when she got ahold of a baby bufo frog, which are highly poisonous. We worked so hard to get her back to health, and although she endured some brain damage, she fought her way back with her same spunky, determined spirit. We didn’t think she would make it — but she did. Her strength and will to live were truly inspiring, and she went on to live happily, seizure-free, ever since.

Sadly, the seizures returned unexpectedly and took her from us — but even in her final moments, she showed the same courage and heart that made her so special from the very beginning.

Over the years, as our family grew, she was right there with us — always ready for cuddles, car rides, and every bit of chaos that came with our busy life. She adored her animal brothers and sisters, and her love for her humans was endless.

Mazie wasn’t just a pet — she was family. Our princess. Our tiny shadow with the biggest heart. She will forever be missed and forever loved. 💕🐾
